Notebook Agency is growing. We're hiring a Senior Backend SEO/GEO Strategist to execute high-impact work behind the scenes. No client calls, just deep SEO and AI-influenced strategy in action.

This role is for someone who’s already fluent in modern SEO and wants to push the boundaries of what’s possible with semantic search, entity-based architecture, and Generative Engine Optimization, working directly with Steve Toth, founder of seonotebook.com and ainotebook.com.

You’ll serve as a senior member of the backend strategy team, transforming research, insights, and frameworks into scalable SEO strategy.

• Translate SEO Notebook ideas into execution: use strategies from 300+ SEO Notebook issues to build actionable campaigns, dashboards, and processes.
• Run advanced SEO audits focused on internal linking, entity coverage, semantic completeness, and topical structure, not just checklists.
• Build semantic content maps that reflect search intent clusters, entity relationships, and comparison style content.
• Develop internal linking and page connection frameworks that go beyond siloed navigation, focusing on discoverability and authority flow.
• Utilize Google Sheets and Looker Studio to visualize impact, identify gaps, and inform data-driven prioritization.
• Support client-facing strategists with implementation systems, briefs, analysis, and workflow automation.
• Use AI tools (including GPTs) for research synthesis, content QA, prompt design, and structured reporting.
• Contribute to GEO playbooks by helping track AI search behavior, prompt response accuracy, and brand visibility across ChatGPT, Gemini, and Perplexity.

• Have 4+ years of daily SEO experience, with clear examples of successful content and technical wins.
• Think in terms of entities, context, and semantic structure, not just keywords and backlinks.
• Have a strong technical foundation, especially in crawling, indexing, schema, internal link flow, and thin content detection.
• Are a Google Sheets power user, comfortable with complex formulas, lookups, imports, and dashboard building.
• Are obsessed with GEO and the monumental shift we’re seeing in this space.
• Value autonomy, systems thinking, and fast iteration over rigid step-by-step processes.
• Want to be a key part of a growing agency that is at the forefront of AI search.
• Can overlap with EST mornings at a minimum (full EST preferred).

Base salary: $70,000 - USD 130,000, depending on experience and location + yearly performance bonus.
